Rodrigo Fonti, born in Neuquén, Argentina, is a passionate and dynamic tango dancer, teacher, and DJ. With a background in modern dance from the Experimental Contemporary Dance School, where he specialized in choreography and interpretation, Rodrigo moved to Buenos Aires in 2010 to embrace the city's vibrant "milonguero spirit." There, he merged his contemporary dance training with tango, creating a unique style defined by freshness, speed, and density. His love for tango has led him to perform, teach, and DJ at festivals and events around the world. His own continuous technical study, search for new movement possibilities, and exploration of the language of tango, has led him to a unique blend of traditional and modern tango.
Rodrigo’s teaching approach is organic and caters for students’ individual learning styles. He guides students to discover and develop their unique dance style, find meaning in their movement, feel free and connected, and own their dance.
From Buenos Aires Argentina, they were raised amidst steep family tango tradition. They were introduced to the dance through their families from an early age and represent a third generation of tango dancers. Their dance and teaching has a strong emphasis on elegance while maintaining a constant connection between the couple, reflecting their tradition and culture, rather than a sequence of steps.
